Domaine de la Lôyane
Visit Domaine de La Loyâne is located in Rochefort du Gard and covers 25 hectares of vines in the communes of Tavel, Saint Laurent des Arbres and Saze. The vineyard benefits from Appellation Contrôlée terroirs: Cru de Lirac, Cru de Tavel, Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages.
Winegrowers for four generations, La Lôyane is a family estate created in 2001. "La Lôyane" is the historic name of the locality where the estate was built, and is thought to refer to a territory occupied by wolves in ancient times.

Benefiting from an exceptional geographical and geological situation, the vineyard is managed with respect for the environment. It is currently being converted to organic farming. The old vineyard produces low yields for concentrated juice quality. Domaine de la Loyâne wines are made in the pure tradition of the Southern Rhône Valley. The wines possess the typical and original characteristics of the region: power, finesse, elegance and unmistakable aromas of black fruits and spices. The vineyards are planted with a wide range of grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Clairette, Clairette rose and Grenache gris.

"Best selling Côtes du Rhône in 7 vintages!

"Born of 40-year-old vines and a clay-limestone matrix with rolled pebbles, this Grenache-Syrah duo in equal measure makes a stunning wine, full of nuances, from the shimmering carmine-red color to the bouquet, which happily blends iris, crushed raspberry and truffle notes. Tactfully extracted, soberly matured in vats, it restores the same freshness on the palate, with just the right amount of volume and structure, culminating in a long, liquorice finish that's very much of the South of France". "Raw happiness!"

"Grenache, Viognier and Roussanne were harvested in equal parts in mid-August, at night, to compensate for the heat of the vintage. After 6 months in vat, this white delivers a subtle bouquet of lime blossom, apricot and chamomile. A hint of brioche is added to this well-matched palette on the palate, which is full-bodied, comfortable but not overpowering, and energized by a long finish with grapefruit accents". "A vintage worth the detour".

The estate's latest release, Cuvée Sans Sulfite, is a pure pleasure! Built on old Carignan and Grenache grapes, its nose is delicate and subtle, with aromas of red fruit and rose petals. On the palate, it's gourmand and fluid, with a lovely fresh juice and good body.

"A model of balance

This Grenache / Syrah duo reveals all the strength of Lirac, delivering a complex nose blending black fruit, blackberry jam, garrigue and licorice. The palate is full-bodied, rich, dense and velvety, with plenty of freshness and tannins that are present but fine and supple. The finish is marked by aromas of wild thyme and zan.

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette

"Once again this year, the Dubois family has been showered with stars, and won no less than two Favorites awards. The first goes to this pure Grenache from century-old hand-harvested vines, with an intense nose of red fruit, undergrowth and vanilla. But it's the palate above all that impressed the jury: complex, velvety, powerful and greedy, with intense flavors of spicy red fruits, stretched out in a long chocolatey finish and supported by velvety tannins of remarkable harmony. A majestic Lirac ". (Le Guide Hachette des vins 2019)
