The Lirac red 2017 gives Syrah a prominent place. The nose blends notes of blackcurrant and spice, with a fresh menthol note; Grenache and Mourvèdre come through at the end of the glass, bringing warmth and intensity. Harmonious and fine on the palate. The clarity of the fruit is striking and follows us through to the finish. The tannic structure is delicate, and the masterful barrel ageing adds light roasted notes. A sure bet!

Domain rated (2022 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :
In 1919, Jean Olivier acquired the former estate of the Counts of Aqueria, commissioned by an 18th-century château and adorned with a French-style park. His son-in-law Paul de Bez completely restructured the vineyard: today, 64 ha in a single block, managed since 1984 by his grandsons Vincent and Bruno, now joined by Raphaël, the fourth generation. A sure bet for lirac and tavel.

Domain rated 3*Stars (very good production)
About the domain :
Château d'Aqueria dates back to the 16th century. In 1920, it was acquired by Jean Olivier, who gave it its letters of nobility. Today, Vincent and Bruno de Bez look after the land of their childhood - no less than 66 hectares. Apart from Tavel, a renowned gourmet rosé, the rest of the production in the Lirac appellation (both red and white) is often interesting.

Middeldiepe ruby kleur met paarse kern. Fraaie kleur. Score: 16/20
