James Suckling

"The wood is quite pronounced at the moment, with lots of spice and some orange notes, but also peaches and black plums. The palate is very rich, spicy, and elegant, with intense, long, bold fruit flavors and an appealing richness on the finish. Drink within the next six years." (James Suckling 2019)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Marrenon is one of France's most sophisticated cooperatives. It brings together nine wineries, no less than 7,600 hectares of vineyards, and has bottled more than 85% of the Luberon's annual production for 40 years. This is a remarkable feat in terms of quality, as evidenced by a very diverse and comprehensive range of wines. These wines are deliciously fruity, without losing sight of their terroir of origin.
