Domaine Dambrun
Formerly a well-known journalist, Patrick Chêne and his wife Laurence were hooked on Favorite wine, and moved to the southern Rhône Valley in the Vaucluse. They created the Dambrun estate by taking over an 18th century Mas, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and situated at the foot of the southern slopes of Mont Ventoux. The vineyards of Dambrun estate This 13-hectare vineyard extends over three communes: Caromb, Modène and Bédoin.

Supported and guided by Jérome Bressy, they laid the foundations of a project that had matured over more than twenty years, and today they are flying solo! Biodynamic viticulture and respect for the environment were the obvious choices. No chemicals are used, manual labor is favored, and fermentation takes place naturally. The result is wines with a strong personality, surprising and out of the ordinary, that are already off the beaten track.

It's a safe bet that, in the years to come, the estate will acquire all its letters of nobility and become one of the spearheads of this Ventoux appellation that never ceases to amaze us.

"A special cuvee by Patrick Chêne, not to be missed!

"A multitude of flavors! Pomegranate syrup and fermented coffee beans, raspberries and black cherries baked into a jam so thick you could cut it into cubes. And that's exactly what this wine feels like on the palate. A sculpture of black fruit shaped in the corners and carved into the flesh, introverted, juicy balsamic, fine spices barely present. Enjoy it with confit pork chops. Enjoy on the fruit. (Jancis Robinson 2023)

"A beautiful personality

Aged mainly in demi-muids and foudres for almost twenty-three months, La Dame Brune embodies the traditional elegance of the estate's wines. This cuvée boasts excellent concentration and a tannic structure that's not too heavy, suggesting a promising evolution towards spicier, more exotic notes. A selection of the estate's finest plots.

"Off the beaten track

" A great bottle to keep for this exceptional vintage. The intensity of the fruit combined with the spicy finish makes this a great all-round wine." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve 2019) The southern framework present notably on the nose with these notes of black fruits and garrigue is without heaviness. Surprisingly powerful yet elegant, this wine is velvety and well-balanced on the palate, with a fresh, mentholated finish. A superb discovery for this off-the-beaten-track Ventoux, brilliantly crafted by Patrick Chêne.
