Jean-Michel Parcé created this cuvée as a tribute to his father, Dr André Parcé, a famous local figure who made Banyuls known the world over. The fruit of a blend of several vintages and 5 years' ageing. With its primary and secondary aromas, this cuvée is the perfect introduction to the particular flavors of old Banyuls. As an aperitif or with dessert, depending on the occasion, pleasure is guaranteed!

Expert opinion
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Domaine rated 2**Stars (Successful production)
About the domain :
Dr. Parcé had unquestionably left his mark on the estate and on the Banyuls appellation as a whole, based on its magnificent schist terroirs. The collioures, i.e. the dry wines produced in the same geographical area, have until now given a good idea of this terroir and its potential. The challenge for Jean-Michel Parcé, the son, is to maintain this high level of quality.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2000 guide) 91/100 (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
Jean-Michel Parcé has created a wine (in honor of his father) in the hope that it will guide young wine lovers towards the extraordinary secondary aromas that can be found in lightly oxidized wines. This cuvée is made using the Solera method, which involves blending several vintages while controlling oxidation. Banyuls Cuvée du Dr André Parcé is the result of blending 3 vintages of Banyuls Rimage. Intense ruby color with a slightly golden crown, this wine reveals aromas of fresh cedar wood, mocha and cigar. Medium-bodied, satin-textured and wonderfully lively, it is enveloped in notes of plum and blackberry, as well as a touch of coffee-cream. This long-finished, well-crafted wine has the capacity to age for another twenty years or so.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine noté (guide 2011) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Mas Blanc boasts some of the finest terroirs in Banyuls. It has belonged to the same family since 1639, that of Doctor Parcé, a great local figure who died in 1998, and who animated the place for a long time.

Delicious as an aperitif, on a chocolate cake and a little more original with a Roquefort cheese.

I knew, appreciated and bought Dr Parcé's banyuls: I'm not sure he would have been proud of the tribute, even for an entry-level cuvée.

Date: 04/02/12 Aging potential: 1/2 year Tasting: Serve chilled. The nose is not too woody, with toasty notes. The palate is a little heavy and sweet (best served chilled). Food & wine pairing: Excellent the day after with peccorino and Sardinian cheese. Glass: FRUITY R

A wine I didn't like. A little overcooked and no balance between fruit and alcohol.
