"A dominant Grenache noir grape variety, aged in vats for this fresh-fruit gem. While blackcurrant buds dominate the nose, the rich, round and fresh palate evokes ripe, tasty black cherry, before a spicy finish." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

About the domain :
A number of very successful vintages from this cooperative, a key player in this appellation due to its size and local influence. While we wait for a new generation of winemakers to do even greater justice to the terroir, let's salute the almost unrivalled value for money.

Domaine noté (guide 2019) Awarded wines (Wines from this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Dominated by Grenache Noir and matured in vats, this little gem is full of fresh fruit. Blackcurrant buds dominate the nose, while the rich, round, fresh palate evokes ripe, tasty black cherries and a spicy finish.
About the domain :
Founded in 1910, the Maury cooperative winery is the oldest still in operation in the department. After the winegrowers' revolts of 1907, it brought together over 130 owners. Today, the cellar has 870 hectares of its members' land at its disposal, and makes its living from the Grenache grapes that produce the traditional vins doux naturels and, since 2011, dry Maury.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2018 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
A voluminous, juicy blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan, Tradition Schiste 2017 should be consumed in the short term. It's full-bodied, creamy and supple, with ultra-ripe notes of cherry, stone fruit and chocolate, as well as high alcohol and warmth to match.

16+ - 17+/20. Well-balanced, fairly mellow attack, easy-drinking, very successful blend: carignan quite present without imposing itself. Very good value for money. A fine piece of work.
