"On the black schists of Maury, Grenache noir is king, and it's in the grenats, young wines kept away from oxidation, thatit expresses all its deliciousness. A deep color, inherited from long maceration, immediately characterizes this 2017. The intense nose expresses red fruits (cherry and blackberry), nuanced with notes of scrubland, rockrose and the vanilla of the barrel. The palate is full-bodied, with cherry flavors (kirsch) that coat the tannins. The finish leaves a lingering impression of prune and dark chocolate". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

About the wine:
On the black schists of Maury, Grenache noir is king, and it's in the grenats, young wines preserved from oxidation, that it expresses all its deliciousness. The finish leaves a lingering impression of prune and dark chocolate.
About the domain :
The origins of the estate, where 6 generations have succeeded one another, date back to 1864. The estate boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been at the helm of the estate since 1989, and for almost 30 years they have been producing wines with strong personalities, both dry and vins doux naturels. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young winemaking couple, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.
