Domaine Anne-Sophie et Jean-François Quénard

The JF Quénard estate is a family estate that has been passed down from father to son since 1644. It is located in the upper part of the village, at the foot of the famous Chignin towers, whose origins remain a mystery. Jean-François, an oenologist, took over the estate with his father in 1987, after graduating from the University of Dijon and completing a number of highly enriching internships in Bordeaux and California. Anne-Sophie, one of Jean-François' daughters, now assists him at the estate.

The JF Quénard estate now has 17 hectares of vineyards stretching out at the foot of the towers of the old fortress. The Chignin vineyard, located 10 km south of Chambéry, is characterized by its well-exposed clay-limestone hillsides and its magnificent medieval towers. Jean-François Quénard draws inspiration from traditional methods passed down through successive generations. He ensures that the terroir, cultivation practices, and winemaking techniques are respected, enhanced by new techniques. Each plot is vinified separately, like bringing a baby into the world.
