Note : Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
"Louis Trosset lets nature take its course. The 2011 vintage is dark purple, with a nose of licorice, strawberry and violet, chocolate and prune, of rare complexity. The palate is seductive and powerful, but still closed: we'll have to wait until 2017 to let it blossom. Serve this wine with a rare rib-eye steak". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

Charles Trosset Estate

Expert opinion
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Estate rated (2012 guide) 4*Stars (Very high quality production)
About the domain :
"Louis and Joseph Trosset pay tribute to Mondeuse, the difficult and demanding Savoy grape par excellence. It doesn't tolerate mediocrity or average ripeness. On their 4.50-hectare estate, the Trosset sons have understood this and work it with great care. As a result, the cuvées are often marvellous, animal, peppery, spicy...".
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine rated (2013 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the domain :
"This 4-hectare estate is located on the beautiful slopes of the village of Arbin, a prime Mondeuse terroir. Masterfully managed by two brothers, Joseph (in the vineyard) and Louis (in the cellar), the family estate boasts vines that are on average 25 years old. The soils are worked, vinification is carried out by plot, fermentations are classic and the wines are aged in vats for 8 to 12 months. Mondeuses have an incredible pedigree and are distinguished by their class and aromatic purity, often with an aniseed-like freshness. The very low volumes produced make this estate an address too confidential, but one that produces wines of consistent quality and great ageing capacity."
