90/100
RVF
"Surprising!"
Atypical, Fleur reveals fruity, pear and citrus notes, as well as springtime white flowers, far from the varietal aromas characteristic of Sauvignon. The palate is rich, fat and generous, with a fresh, saline finish that makes this cuvée very easy to digest. A cuvée for wine lovers with a natural profile!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Having settled in Vélines in 2000, Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal have chosen to produce pure, sulphur-free wines that are both easy to digest and fruity - wines you can drink. Certified biodynamic since the 2011 vintage, the 19-hectare estate has always been run according to the principles of organic farming, in order to protect both the environment and their health. Well done them, for without falling into the trap of vin nature, where fermentations run at full gallop, they produce a pretty coherent range, worked by terroir, without technicalities, in the Burgundian style.

Rated wine (guide 2021) 90/100 (Vintage 2018)
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Situated on a clay-limestone terroir overlooking the right bank of the Dordogne, this estate is one of the driving forces behind the Bergerac revival. Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal vinify lively, pure wines with intense expression and great freshness, which they offer at very affordable prices. The reds are sulfur-free and input-free, even at bottling. This approach is mastered: after aeration, the wines remain clean and well-balanced, with perfect, natural acidity.

In my opinion, this wine has a major flaw: it has a very high level of volatile acidity, which gives it a burning, deviant side. It's a pity we weren't able to drink it, as the wine was full-bodied and had great potential.
