Il présente un nez puissant et sucré de myrtille, de cerise noire, de lavande et d'encens poivré, ainsi qu'une bouche corsée, structurée, puissante mais homogène. Sans aspérités, avec des tanins soyeux et une grande finale, c'est un vin singulier (il est majoritairement issu de vignes à Châteauneuf Du Pape).
