Gault & Millau
"An ode to tradition and the tannat grape. You can't help but be charmed by its fiery temperament, its cooked black fruit and the delicacy of its tannins macerated by mutage. A wine to savor. (Les Meilleurs Vins de France - Gault Millau). Tannat's concentration and richness in polyphenols give this wine a unique sensation and a new style, with ageing potential comparable to Vintage Ports. A rare cuvée not to be missed!

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domain rated (guide 2023) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that takes wines from Madiran around the world under the label of Château Montus, which he bought in 1980. Brumont's cuvées often go against conventional wisdom, demonstrating his freedom in interpreting the terroirs' yellow and red clay subsoils, with gradients ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat expresses itself in the château's three cuvées, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this not-easy-to-handle Pyrenean grape.

Surprising: real tannat coulis. At last, a pleasant wine to finish a meal. Pairs well with a chocolate dessert.
