Textured with a succulent wild berry character on the mid-palate and a lively, savory finish. Made from Demeter-certified biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now. (James Suckling 2024)

Expert opinion
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2024 guide) 90/100
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Finally, for everyday drinking, Haute Côt(e) de Fruit is your typical juicy Malbec, taut with an invigorating finish.
About the domain :
Fabien Jouves, who works organically on the slopes of Trespoux, the highest area of the appellation, offers a range of refined wines that respect the identity of the terroirs, even to the point of claiming the geological origin on the label of his Burgundy bottles. Offering a contemporary approach, the cuvées have the dual advantage of precision and freshness; however, depending on the type of ageing, there may be a certain coldness in the definition of the materials.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 18/04/2024
A Cahors that stands out for its natural, minimalist spirit and moderately severe character. Lively and light, the palate delivers a fluid, long juice that concentrates the expressive, spicy fruit of Malbec, with a striking tannic freshness running along a line of prominent acidity with chalky accents. Ethereal, slightly bitter and spicy finish. Somewhat flawed, this "living wine" seems to be reaching its limits here, including in terms of price. In any case, Mas del Périé has accustomed us to better wines (La Roque, Les Escures...). After a long, salutary decanting before serving, followed by much hesitation, I ended up matching this thirst-quenching, slightly rustic wine with a Mexican-style beef stew. Score = 2.7.
