Expert opinion
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2023) 88/100
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
When Jean-Mary and Catherine Le Bihan took over the family farm, they opted for the Duras hillsides. And they were right to do so, as they have raised the estate to one of the best in the South-West. In this appellation, which is struggling to emerge, this estate, using a common grape variety, produces original cuvées, pleasant to drink young or made for ageing, such as the superb Perrette et les Noisetiers 2014, tasted in magnum. Clémence, one of their daughters, has joined them.

A wine worthy of its main grape variety, with a ruby-purple color, a nose of blackcurrant and cherry and a marked freshness. The finish is accompanied by fine, mellow tannins for a supple, smooth mouthfeel.

I've never been disappointed by this good-value vial, which gulps almost as well as a Beaujolais (but without seeing the fruit!).
