"Indeed, this cuvée has a beautiful intensity of color, and no lack of aromatic power (red and black fruits, spices, a touch of animal). On the palate, the wine is supple and round, supported by smooth tannins. A fronton that can be enjoyed both young and aged. (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
The cuvées often express a pronounced salinity, typical of the cru. Sy is one of the appellation's most powerful wines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Indeed, with its intense color, this cuvée is not lacking in aromatic power either (red and black fruits, spices, a touch of animal). On the palate, the wine is supple and round, with mellow tannins. A fronton that can be enjoyed both young and aged.
About the domain :
In the Ribes family, everyone has their place. Jean-Luc, a bluesman in his spare time, took over the family estate in 1981, joined over time by Frédéric and Cathy, then by Pierre. The estate covers 23 ha on boulbènes and gravelly soils.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
With the arrival of their young sons, Grégoire and Anne, the Ribes family integrated the vines of Château Flotis, a neighboring property, into the Roc estate. Syrah and négrette on a stony hillside thus swell the estate's ranks. The bouysselet, grafted and vinified in barrels, produces an ambitious white; alongside it, the négrettes remain in top form, thanks to careful and increasingly modern vinification.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 27/09/2024
Off the beaten track, this young wine never ceases to surprise with its virile, dense 14% character, which nevertheless offers a lively, sanguine juice associated with a marked acid framework, and carried by a broad, intensely fruity palette of black plums, blueberries, wild blackberries, and spices with robust, well-rounded tannins. The finish brings freshness to this solid wine. Reflecting the identity of the South-West, this "folle noire" is nonetheless surprisingly easy to digest and ideal for spicy dishes such as lamb tajine with prunes, or local cuisine such as a traditional cassoulet with goose confit, or duck aiguillettes with violet figs roasted in honey and balsamic vinegar. Score = 3.8.
