Domaine de Cauhapé
Domaine de Cauhapé, owned by Henri Ramonteu, is nestled in the heart of Jurançon, between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic. Domaine de Cauhapé spreads its vines over 40 hectares of hillsides, generously exposed to the south-east. The climate is typical of the South-West region, combining the rigors of the mountains with the mildness of the ocean. Combined with the quality of the terroir, a precious blend of clay, silica and pebbles, it allows the quintessence of Jurançon's noble grape varieties to be expressed: gros and petit Manseng.

The gros Manseng plots are mainly used to make dry white wines, appreciated for their freshness and rich aromas. Petit Manseng, harvested in successive stages, is used to produce the great sweet white wines of the South-West, evoking candied fruit, roast meats and honey - the very expression of passerillage. When nature works to this end, we sometimes let it express itself until the first frosts of winter, when the vines offer their last bunches of grapes embossed by frost and weather. They are then delicately picked, lovingly vinified and patiently aged in oak barrels. This is how the different Cauhapé crus blossom: "Noblesse du Temps", "Quintessence du Petit Manseng" and sometimes even "Folie de Janvier". A fine illustration of the osmosis between traditional terroir, mastered modernity and human sensitivity.

"An eternal, timeless wine!

"This golden, late-harvest wine is just a teenager. Its intense richness and flavors of cooked apricot and honeyed almonds are shot through with the characteristic acidity that makes this grape so great in this region. This wine is just about ready to drink, but to enjoy its wonders, wait until 2022." The nose of this dry Jurançon is musky and spicy, followed by aromas of raisins, medlar and quince, finishing after aeration with notes of apple and pineapple. Rich and broad, the palate is savory and powerful, with an explosion of flavors on the citrus-dominated finish.
