"Quite simply, a great white (Le Guide RVF 2025)".
"It reminds me of Graves - the combination of oak, malolactic fermentation and citrus. Full-bodied but not heavy, oaky but not chaotic. Complex and succulent, with long, persistent fruit on the finish. A real find! Certainly a little mysterious from the point of view of appellation and grape variety." (Jancis Robinson 2024)

Expert opinion
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (guide 2023) 92+/100 (Wonderful wine)
About the wine:
Montus Blanc Sec 2019 reveals a complex, fresh bouquet with aromas of lemon oil, mirabelle plum, tangerine, spring flowers and crushed stones. Medium- to full-bodied with a delicate, taut mid-palate, it is seamless and layered, concluding on an elegant, penetrating phenolic finish. This wine is perfectly suited to gourmet drinking, but will benefit from three to five years of cellaring before revealing its full potential.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
A pure Petit Courbu, the 2019 Pacherenc develops a subtle, glycerinized, full-bodied, long-lasting expression; quite simply, a great white, imbued with classicism, a successful gamble on the distinction and evolutionary capacity of a rare grape variety.
About the domain :
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that takes wines from Madiran around the world under the label of Château Montus, which he bought in 1980. Brumont's cuvées often go against conventional wisdom, demonstrating his freedom in interpreting the terroirs' yellow and red clay subsoils, with gradients ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat expresses itself in the château's three cuvées, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this not-easy-to-handle Pyrenean grape.

About the wine:
The generous Blanc Sec 2019 unfolds with aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear, lemon peel and white peach. Chamomile and cedar add further nuances. Concentrated and well-balanced by bright acidity, the medium-bodied 2019 hits the palate with high flavor concentration and good energy. An elegant finish caps it all off.
