Domaine Jean-Marie Haag
In the heart of the Noble Valley, 20 km south of Colmar, the Jean-Marie Haag Estate is run by Jean-Marie and Myriam Haag since 1988. The vineyard of Jean-Marie Haag Estate is located at the foot of the Vosges mountains, protected from bad weather coming from the west by the hills of Petit and Grand Ballon d'Alsace. The vines are planted on steep slopes, up to 40%, which allows for optimal sun exposure. The subsoil is mainly limestone with some calcareous sandstone areas.
The Jean-Marie Haag estate is HVE 3 certified (High Environmental Value), a philosophy of vineyard management that involves partially plowed soil, natural grass cover, and preservation of the ecosystem.
