Le Clos des Capucins is one of those magical, elusive, timeless places. It's rare to find a place with so much energy and history, producing wines of such purity. Assisted by her two sons, Eddy and Théo, Catherine Faller is at the head of the estate, deploying a rare energy to keep the quality of the wines at the highest level and maintain a warm welcome to the domaine. Her son Théo devotes a great deal of attention to the vines, which have been biodynamically cultivated throughout the estate since 2005, while Ghislain Berthiot, who has been with the family for several years, is in charge of vinification. About the wine :

Riesling Cuvée Ste. Catherine 2021 is made from 60- to 70-year-old vines on the mid-slope of the Grand Cru Schlossberg. This wine took a full year to ferment, stopping at around 5 g/l residual sugar. It's richer than usual for the estate, but with the acidity of the 2021, it holds together well. The nose reveals only a subtle hint of orange blossom. Higher temperatures reveal a note of pineapple juice. A hint of smoky reduction also appears. The palate is bold, clean, serene and perfumed. The crystalline nature of granite comes to the fore. The crisp texture is even more mouth-watering. The aroma and texture of freshly zested Amalfi lemon carry through to the long finish. This wine is full-bodied but not fat - a magnificent synthesis of freshness and citrus, long and elegant. Real dynamism and energy.

A giant dry Riesling that is so fresh, concentrated and precise that it seems only moderately full-bodied despite the enormous concentration of citrus, spice and wet stone minerality. The finish is very pure and wonderfully silky, it doesn't want to let go. This wine took a full year to ferment, which clearly yielded excellent results. Made from Demeter-certified biodynamically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring.
