"The floral framework of Chénas is there, jostling the nose with its flowery peony. The fruit is clear and frank, the tannin easy to digest. This is a cuvée that respects its terroir and is worthy of sharing. (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2019 - RVF) The name of this cuvée, produced in partnership with winemaker Lameloise, suggests a pronounced minerality and a beautiful complexity. A great bottle!

Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
A leading figure in Beaujolais in general and Morgon in particular, Dominique Piron, now joined by his partner Julien Révillon, is developing a solid range of Beaujolais crus. Over 100 hectares, seven crus are represented, with a logical majority of Morgons. With a refined style and expressive nose, while retaining the stylistic signature of their origins, the domaine's wines are all successful.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domain rated (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
The estate's vinification choices are confirmed vintage after vintage: partial destemming, long fermentation (18 to 20 days) and barrel ageing. An approach that could lead to an extracted wine. Yet it's finesse and delicacy that take over. The nose evokes peony and red fruit. On the palate, the wine is loose and supple, with elegant, refined tannins.
About the domain :
Heir to 14 generations of winegrowers, Dominique Piron handed over the reins of the family estate in 2020 to Julien Revillon, his partner since 2013. The latter is now in charge of some 50 hectares of vines, divided between his own vineyards and grape purchases for the négoce.

Domaine rated (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The floral framework of Chénas is there, jostling the nose with its flowery peony. The fruit is clear and frank, the tannin easy to digest. This is a cuvée that respects its terroir and is worthy of sharing.
About the domain :
Julien Revillon, aided by his talented oenologist Pierre Meunier, continues Dominique Piron's work with consistency and brio. The duo is aided by vineyard manager Thibaud Lemaître, which has become necessary to oversee a 90-hectare estate. Their joint efforts have improved the quality of the grapes, and the parcel-by-parcel selection process is beginning to bear fruit. We are seduced by the consistency of the range and its cornerstones: spontaneity of fruit, delicacy and precise definition of each cru.

A superb Beaujolais with Burgundian accents. With a few years' cellaring, this wine takes off, between minerality and airy notes. Fine, elegant, accessible.

Slightly corked, a shame...

Admittedly, this is no ordinary Beaujolais, which justifies my rating. But the minerality highlighted here by a few opinions is not really to my taste, although it goes well with thin slices of fuet as an aperitif. Could it be that I find this wine a little too austere?

I love this estate's wines, especially the minerality of this Chénas, a great success for the Gamay grape!
