2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"This 2013, aged five months in vats, has a beautiful purple hue. Cherry, raspberry, strawberry, the nose is generously fruity. This aromatic intensity is echoed on the palate, which is full of charm, round and silky, with no lack of structure or freshness. A model of harmony". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2015 guide) 2*Coup de Coeur (Outstanding wine)
Domain rated (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Founded in 1926 on the northern slopes of Mont Brouilly, this family estate covers 21ha, with parcels in four crus: brouilly, côte-de-brouilly, régnié and morgon. A sure bet in the Guide: the first "coup de coeur" was a 1984, and many others have followed. David Duthel took over the reins of the domaine in 2010.

Domain rated (guide 2022) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Cathy Duthel and her husband David Duthel have taken over from Jean-Paul Ruet, who developed bottled sales at this estate founded in 1926. A firm believer in traditional semi-carbonic vinification, Domaine Ruet adapts to the profile of each vintage, partially de-stemming depending on the year, ageing in wood or vats, punching down and de-stemming to offer maximum fruit. Careful selection of plots brings out the marriage of soil and Gamay. A wide and very homogeneous range of wines to discover in a well-stocked cellar.

Having never drunk chirouble, I found this wine interesting.

This wine is well made, flawless, but it's really very light, borderline watery, for a Beaujolais cru. This is certainly due to the low-quality 2013 vintage in Beaujolais. I'm still surprised that the Guide Hachette awarded it 2* and a Coup de Coeur.

A wine with lovely red fruit aromas, quite greedy.
