success

"Half matured in vats and half in tuns, this full-bodied, complex wine clearly shows its full potential. The nose develops notes of ripe red fruit. On the palate, it has everything to please: fine tannins, volume, fruit, mellow oak, balance and length. A real treat. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

Maturing half in vats and half in tuns has obviously perfectly brought out the qualities of this full-bodied, complex wine. The nose develops notes of ripe red fruit. On the palate, it has everything to please: fine tannins, volume, fruit, mellow oak, balance and length. A real treat.

About the domain :

Founded in 1926 on the northern slopes of Mont Brouilly, this family estate covers 21 ha, with parcels in four crus: brouilly, côte-de-brouilly, régnié and morgon. A sure bet in Beaujolais: the first Favorite was a 1984, and many others have followed. David Duthel took over the running of the estate in 2010, supplementing it with a trading activity.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the wine:

The nose is sustained by heady alcohol: lilac and wisteria. Its generous fruit is lifted by a mid-palate of energetic tannin. With further ageing, it will be splendid.

About the domain :

Cathy Duthel and her husband David Duthel have taken over from Jean-Paul Ruet, who developed bottled sales at this estate founded in 1926. A firm believer in traditional semi-carbonic vinification, Domaine Ruet adapts to the profile of each vintage, partially de-stemming depending on the year, ageing in wood or vats, punching down and de-stemming to offer maximum fruit. Careful selection of plots brings out the marriage of soil and Gamay. A wide and very homogeneous range of wines to discover in a well-stocked cellar.

Out of a batch of 24 bottles, 2 were corked...A shame, because this is a good Brouilly!
