"guaranteed fun!

"A blend derived from the Roche, Roilette, Garants and Moriers lieux-dits, Hoppenot's Fleurie Origines 2020 bursts with aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, lively and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and melting tannins, it was already showing well despite being bottled just days before I tasted it." (Wine Advocate 2021) A must-taste!

A blend derived from the Roche, Roilette, Garants and Moriers lieux-dits, Hoppenot's Fleurie Origines 2020 bursts with aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, lively and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and melting tannins, it was already showing well despite being bottled just a few days before I tasted it.

About the domain :

I discovered the wines of this new domaine during my tastings in Villefranche organized by Inter Beaujolais, and Hoppenot's first vintages impressed me enough to merit a special mention. If he can maintain this level of quality, importers should find their way to his door.

About the domain :

Grégoire Hoppenot is one to watch. He is one of those winegrowers who, before setting up shop in 2018, enriched his experience at domains Chermette, Maison Trénel and the Cave des Vignerons de Bel-Air. He has built up a top-notch parcel of land among the best vineyards in the area. Gentle whole-cluster vinifications are followed by ageing combining vat and already-used wood, enabling the nuances to be reflected to best effect, but also retaining a digestible, fine character. The 2018s proved promising, and the 2019s are particularly successful. We look forward to discovering the next vintages.

A very pleasant wine to drink, even now, well rounded, very fruity, excellent value, to be continued.

I can confirm this boy's talent. It was hard because the 1st tasting had disappointed me a little. It's true that it was shortly after transport, which is not neutral. A little further away, I was finally able to enjoy a Beaujolais! Phew! It's about time! The wine is good at d1, at d1 +3h, at d2 and at d3. This time there's no room for doubt. Fruit, body and elegance in spite of everything, all the ingredients are there. I therefore validate.

A pleasant new discovery for 2021. Note the charming label in an "impressionist" style expressing freshness and gaiety, just like this opulent, juicy Fleurie with lots of red fruit. The mid-palate is well occupied by high acidity, counterbalanced by melting, supple tannins. The finish is enhanced by pleasant spices and smoky notes. A score of 3.8 for this light, convivial wine which, at 14°, easily found its place with a charolais fondue with satay sauce and basmati rice.

Score: 16,5+/20
