Notes : Bettane & Desseauve 16/20, Robert Parker 87+/100
Morgon Roche Noire is a purist of its appellation, all finesse and opulence. A great Morgon! "A full-bodied, mineral wine, rich in expression, full of energy and tension. Not recommended for lovers of fruity sensations". (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2010 - Bettane & Desseauve)

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine noté (guide 2014) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)

About the domain :

"This property, formerly Château Bellevue, is the Morgon counterpart to Château des Jacques in Moulin-à-Vent. The same brilliant team, inspired by Jacques Lardière, vinifies in a similar spirit, producing full-bodied, generous wines that have improved in precision over the past two years. The 2005 and 2006 will be benchmarks for the entire region. We have a soft spot for the terres-noires, one of the tastiest and most accomplished morgons in 2005. In 2006, Morgon Côte-de-Py is clearly back in the lead. 2007 is the last vintage to be vinified, the wines being sold under the Château des Jacques label from the 2008 vintage onwards.

Domaine rated (2014 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

(Jadot) "This prestigious négociant house boasts one of the most extensive ranges and a very fine collection of terroirs, spread over 150 ha and distributed on five continents, in over sixty countries. Jacques Lardière, the house's oenologist since 2009, handed over the reins to Frédéric Barnier. 2012 will be his first vintage. Pierre-Henri Gagey, the company's CEO, continues to acquire Burgundy vineyards, and has even set up a dedicated Burgundy winemaking facility in Givry, on the Côte Chalonnaise.
