"Born on schist, Morgon seduces with its floral, peony fragrance. Its fruit runs across the tongue, with a flavor that's broader than it is long. A little cellaring will refine it." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2020 - RVF) Planted on schist soils, the Gamay grape here displays great aromatic finesse.

About the wine:
Born on schist, Morgon seduces with its floral, peony fragrance. Its fruit runs across the tongue, with a flavor that's broader than it is long. A cellar will refine it.
About the domain :
In the center of the village of Chiroubles, on the green balcony of the Beaujolais, sixth-generation Christophe farms 16.5 hectares, 14 of which are in his cru. Vinifying with (classic) semi-carbonic maceration, he de-stems parcels where the grapes are not yet ripe. He sells everything in the bottle, and at a fair price - the price at which chiroubles should be sold. We are surprised, however, by the stylistic differences in the range, noting irregularities in recent vintages.

Purple color. Closed nose. Mouth a little drying, severe. 2017 not as good as 2016.
