In 1981, Didier Desvignes purchased his first vineyards in Morgon, under the name Domaine du Calvaire de Roche-Grès. This name refers to the presence of thirteen monumental stations in the shape of menhirs, erected in the early 20th century, in the middle of the vineyards.
Didier Desvignes is committed to producing quality wine with respect for the vine, with great rigor and passion. This commitment is reflected in the controlled and reasoned use of phytosanitary products and organic fertilizers, traditional soil cultivation, and a ripe harvest with low yields.
Didier Desvignes sees winemaking as a way of expressing the best of each of his terroirs. He therefore vinifies each plot separately in order to reveal the finesse and personality of each one. The use of wood is also carefully controlled and harmonizes perfectly with the methods and style of Beaujolais wines, allowing the purity of the fruit to prevail.
Didier Desvignes produces a complete range of Beaujolais Crus: Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Brouilly, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent.
