"A vintage to keep an eye on!

"The Morgon Corcelette 2023 comes from the lieu-dit Vermont, higher up the hill. The well-defined nose is marked by notes of redcurrant, grape tomato and undergrowth. The palate is fleshy with red cherries and crushed strawberries, sapid and fresh with admirable depth on what feels to me like an open finish." (Vinous 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated domain (2023 guide) 4*Stars (High-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

This emblematic Beaujolais estate, as much for its history as for its reputation, shines in Morgon and throughout the Beaujolais region. The vineyard covers 13 hectares, including five on the Côte de Py. At the head of the domaine, Claude-Emmanuelle and her brother Louis-Benoît, renowned for their rigor and attention to detail, are the worthy successors of a tradition of excellence. The latest vintages, between finesse and delicacy, are always elegant.

Rated domain (2023 guide) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of French winegrowing. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment)

About the domain :

Anyone who has put their lips to a wine from the fraternal duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes has experienced a special emotion. Here, aesthetic research focuses on the fine expression of the lieux-dits (mainly in Morgon), the right matter according to the vintage and the capacity for ageing, resulting from attentive viticulture, sensitive vinification, far from dogma, and refined wood-free ageing. The third star has been pinned to the domaine's jacket for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of the range, we're guessing it will remain there for many years to come.
