"Morgon Aux Pierres Javernières 2023 is made from vines planted in 1931 and aged in concrete eggs. The nose is slightly more opulent and candied than that of the Côte du Py, perhaps without the same sophistication. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a little more earthy, very well balanced with an almost flinty finish. Excellent.Remarkable." (Vinous 2024) Great art!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
This emblematic Beaujolais estate, as much for its history as for its reputation, shines in Morgon and throughout the Beaujolais region. The vineyard covers 13 hectares, including five on the Côte de Py. At the head of the domaine, Claude-Emmanuelle and her brother Louis-Benoît, renowned for their rigor and attention to detail, are the worthy successors of a tradition of excellence. The latest vintages, with their combination of finesse and delicacy, are always elegant.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the domain :
Anyone who has put their lips to a wine from the brotherly duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes has experienced a special emotion. Here, aesthetic research focuses on the fine expression of the lieux-dits (mainly in Morgon), the right substance according to the vintage and the capacity for ageing, resulting from attentive viticulture, sensitive vinification, far from dogma, and refined wood-free ageing. The third star has been pinned to the estate's jacket for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of the range, we're guessing it will remain there for many years to come.
