Rating: Robert Parker 92/100 , RVF 17/20
"Morgon Javernieres Les Impenitents 2011, from 60-year-old vines, offers black tea, spicy and salty walnut oil, nuances of alkaline sea breeze on the nose, with predictable scents of fresh blackberry. S' add aromas of grilled meat, licorice and herbs on a silky palate almost as if it were a Southern Syrah. The finish offers a sense of transparency of herbal and mineral nuances. It will evolve until at least 2018." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes
Morgon
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
This emblematic Beaujolais estate, as much for its history as for its reputation, shines in Morgon and throughout the Beaujolais region. The vineyard covers 13 hectares, including five on the Côte de Py. At the head of the domaine, Claude-Emmanuelle and her brother Louis-Benoît, renowned for their rigor and attention to detail, are the worthy successors of a tradition of excellence. The latest vintages, with their combination of finesse and delicacy, are always elegant.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the domain :
Anyone who has put their lips to a wine from the brotherly duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes has experienced a special emotion. Here, aesthetic research focuses on the fine expression of the lieux-dits (mainly in Morgon), the right substance according to the vintage and the capacity for ageing, resulting from attentive viticulture, sensitive vinification, far from dogma, and refined wood-free ageing. The third star has been pinned to the estate's jacket for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of the range, we're guessing it will remain there for many years to come.

Dense ruby color. Powerful nose with animal notes, jammy red and black fruits, a spicy touch, plum and menthol. Mouth with a tense attack, superb fruit, a peppery retro, fresh and spicy tannins and a long mineral finish with impressive concentration. A superb wine that can evolve for 5 to 7 years without problems.
