Adorned with an intense violet color, this cuvée reveals a magnificent bouquet of finesse. The pulp intoxicates the palate, which capsizes on contact with a silky texture and tamed tannins. The persistence makes us salivate. A great bottle that promises ten years of cellaring.

Domaine Mee Godard
Morgon
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 17.5/20 (Vintage 2017) (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (2021 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
COMMENTS retirement: 5 hectares in Morgon, on the most beautiful lieux-dits, Corcelettes, Grand Cras and Côte de Py! That was in 2013. Since he set up, Mee Godard has been making progress and building. A hectare of Moulin-à-Vent here, a new building there, and wines that continue to refine. The Godard style is all about pure, never sterile, airy yet structured wines that exude their origins. Add to this a greediness that may have been lacking in his earlier vintages, and you have the keystone of the superb 2017s. It's a shame there's so little of it!

Rated 18/20 + Favorite (Vintage 2017) (Grand vin)
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Trained as an oenologist but with no winemaking history, Mee made her dream come true when, in February 2013, she single-handedly took over the plots of an unsuccessful winemaker. Her pocket-sized estate is made up of very old vines in the best Morgon terroirs (Corcelette, Grand Cras, Côte du Py). A moulin-à-vent cuvée was added to the range in 2016. Mee Godard's free-spirited yet well-defined wines are on the rise!

A very good wine, definitely worth waiting for. At the tasting, some good tasters thought Languedoc and I think even South-West (malbec, tannat ...)

Score: 17,5+/20

As a regular fan of Côte du Py, I am very surprised by the excellent scores in the various guides, as they are not up to the standard of other Côte du Py wines.

It's a lord! A jewel of flavors, combining freshness and concentration, it's close to the quintessential Beaujolais king. Drink at the right temperature!
