"Les Grands Cras is a 1.5-hectare terroir in the south of the appellation, with a reputation for producing powerful, mineral wines. Domaine Ruet's vines here are sixty years old, and the grapes are vinified using a semi-carbonic maceration process that lasts nineteen days. The 2015 shines for its concentration on the palate and its aromatic generosity, and earns another "coup de coeur", the ninth for this estate. The tannins, still a little marked on the finish, will polish with time". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

About the domain :
Founded in 1926 on the northern slopes of Mont Brouilly, this family estate covers 21 ha, with parcels in four crus: brouilly, côte-de-brouilly, régnié and morgon. A sure bet in Beaujolais: the first wine to fall in love was a 1984, and many others have followed. David Duthel took over the running of the estate in 2010, supplementing it with a trading activity.

Domain rated (guide 2022) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Cathy Duthel and her husband David Duthel have taken over from Jean-Paul Ruet, who developed bottled sales at this estate founded in 1926. A firm believer in traditional semi-carbonic vinification, Domaine Ruet adapts to the profile of each vintage, partially de-stemming depending on the year, ageing in wood or vats, punching down and de-stemming to offer maximum fruit. Careful selection of plots brings out the marriage of soil and Gamay. A wide and very homogeneous range of wines to discover in a well-stocked cellar.

drunk in 10/19. An oppulent nose of fruit and a finely chiselled palate finishing with a hint of blond tobacco. Wine at its peak

Beautiful balance in a vintage that sometimes produced massive wines. This wine reminded me of Lapierre's Morgon, to say the least.... Superb!

Good wine, but a little rustic... it should refine with time... Tasted again the next day, (to finish the bt.) surprising... Potential.
