The result is a highly expressive wine, representative of the terroir of its appellation, with aromas of black fruit, ripe blackcurrant, redcurrant... Full-bodied on the palate, with good tannins. About the domain :
"Merlot, which largely dominates (90%) this vineyard with its very low yields, gives the Jonqueyres wines a very pure fruitiness and a true harmony, without asperity. The estate - which also operates Clos Alphonse Dubreuil in Côtes de Bourg - is perfectly managed, with a fine heritage of old vines. The latest vintages impress with their tannic depth. They are at their best when young. Château Les Jonqueyres is currently undergoing organic conversion. We have awarded it its first star.
