"Wonderful: could this be the best Château La Lagune in years? ~ Vinous"
"With aromas of cherry, wild berries, and blackcurrant, mingled with notes of dark chocolate, pencil lead, and violet. Château La Lagune 2019 is medium-bodied to full-bodied, ample and sensual, its fruity core framed by polished tannins and succulent acidity. In its elegant and generous style, it is reminiscent of a modern version of the brilliant 1990." (Wine Advocate 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
La Lagune has not been rewarded by the weather in recent vintages for its courageous organic viticulture. Under the supervision of its administrator, Caroline Frey, the wine has progressed well in recent years, with blends containing a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and more elegant tannin extractions. It just keeps getting better and better.

Wine rating (2023 guide) 2 stars (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
With a beautiful ruby color, this wine fully expresses itself on the nose with aromas of black fruit and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, dense, and powerful, firmly anchored by firm but very fine-grained tannins that leave no doubt about the serious potential of this bottle. 2026–2032
About the estate:
The first classified growth encountered by visitors arriving from Bordeaux via the Médoc wine route, this château was purchased in 2000 by Jean-Jacques Frey, a businessman who already owned prestigious estates in Champagne and the Rhône Valley. La Lagune has long been renowned for its elegant 18th-century charterhouse, superb cellars, vast vineyard (110 hectares, including 75 for the grand vin) and prime terroir of fine sandy gravel. All these assets are enhanced by a dynamic team led by Caroline Frey, the owner's daughter and the estate's oenologist since 2004. The estate has been certified organic since the 2016 vintage.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Located at the entrance to the Médoc, this wine imposes its characteristic style, always expressing great finesse and elegance. Led by Caroline Frey since 2004, the estate has produced a series of very high-quality vintages that have enabled it to establish itself at the top of its appellation. It must be said that the château has everything it needs to succeed: a very interesting, homogeneous terroir and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities. This is a sure bet that has nevertheless been painfully affected by the climatic vagaries of recent vintages.
Vinous
Wine rated (2023 guide) 95/100
About wine:
Château La Lagune 2019 offers exquisite transparency on the nose—one of the most expressive wines from this terroir in the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained, taut, and fresh tannins, quite salty with a very integrated and balanced finish that lingers on the palate. Wonderful: could this be the best Château La Lagune in years? Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. 2026-2050
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100
About wine:
The nose offers numerous notes of chocolate, tobacco, and blackcurrant. It is full-bodied, with chewy, polished, and present tannins. Long and intense. This wine is rather tight and pinched on the palate. It needs time to soften up. Very structured. Made from organically grown grapes. Best after 2025.

Rated estate (2020 guide) Recommended
About wine:
A voluptuous nose of blackberry, autumn plum, and fresh coffee. Very pure and mellow on the palate, it reveals a beautiful bitterness, resulting in a wine that is balanced in terms of fruit and acidity. Light at first, it gains in texture thanks to the chalky character of its tannins.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100
About wine:
The bouquet of Château La Lagune is distinguished by its complexity and subtlety. It reveals different nuances, in a precise manner, through aromas of black berries, pepper, and licorice. On the palate, the attack surprises with its density. The wine is not opulent but has body and power, with a juicy and lively structure, while the tannins reveal themselves gradually. They surprise with their imposing but not overwhelming nature on the finish. I think Château La Lagune 2019 has all the elements necessary to age in the cellar, while still being approachable in its youth. Lingering fruity finish. A very fine success. 2025-2044
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100
About wine:
Roses and lilacs, as well as ripe, sweet cherries, are present in the aroma. Medium-bodied, smooth, silky, fresh, and focused on its purity and refined nature, the wine is effortless to drink, finishing with layers of polished red fruit, hints of cocoa, and a touch of spice and savory herbs. This wine will rival the best vintages Château La Lagune has ever produced and should age for decades. Drink between 2024 and 2042.
