"This second organic wine, adorned with a new label, offers immediate pleasure at an attractive price!"
"The nose is bright, the palate is dark and quite serious. No massive acidity, but the fruit is beautifully refined: it is sculpted and balanced, even showy and bright. A linear style with a push from start to finish, then a strong menthol character on the finish." (Decanter 2022)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
La Lagune has not been rewarded by the weather in recent vintages for its courageous organic viticulture. Under the supervision of its administrator, Caroline Frey, the wine has progressed well in recent years, with blends containing a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and more elegant tannin extractions. It just keeps getting better and better.

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
The first classified growth encountered by visitors arriving from Bordeaux via the Médoc wine route, this château was purchased in 2000 by Jean-Jacques Frey, a businessman who already owned prestigious estates in Champagne and the Rhône Valley. La Lagune has long been renowned for its elegant 18th-century charterhouse, superb cellars, vast vineyard (110 hectares, including 75 for the grand vin) and prime terroir of fine sandy gravel. All these assets are enhanced by a dynamic team led by Caroline Frey, the owner's daughter and the estate's oenologist since 2004. The estate has been certified organic since the 2016 vintage.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Located at the entrance to the Médoc, this wine imposes its characteristic style, always expressing great finesse and elegance. Led by Caroline Frey since 2004, the estate has produced a series of very high-quality vintages that have enabled it to establish itself at the top of its appellation. It must be said that the château has everything it needs to succeed: a very interesting, homogeneous terroir and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities. This is a sure bet that has nevertheless been painfully affected by the climatic vagaries of recent vintages.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2022 guide) 90/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose is fruity and offers a certain juiciness, power, and purity in its fruit. There are notes of pulpy/bright blackcurrant, bright cherry, and more subtly wild strawberry, combined with hints of nutmeg, pepper, and a touch of spice and a subtle hint of fresh tobacco. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers freshness, minerality, a mineral structure and a fine smoothness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/tart blackberry, juicy/tart Bigarreau cherry and, more subtly, redcurrant, combined with hints of lily, blueberry, a touch of nutmeg and discreet hints of toast and mocha. The tannins are sapid and racy. Good length.
