Critics are unanimous: a success in 2019, an excellent second wine, outstanding!

"This is a wonderful second wine. Supple, racy, and vibrant, this 2019 is exceptionally beautiful right from the start. It exudes a palpable and seductive energy and liveliness. Notes of crushed flowers, sweet red fruits, and mint mingle with the persistent and sculpted finish. (Vinous 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 12 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

This vintage comes from several plots spread across the entire appellation. One, located in Grand Puy, gave it its name and produces the most distinguished part of the blend, which has progressed well under the guidance of the highly competent Anne Le Naour. There is still room for improvement, which will be made possible by the imminent construction of a new vat room, allowing for precise plot selection and even more careful aging.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 90/100

About wine:

The mid-palate is much more fleshy, with a smooth and velvety character. However, it retains a classic Pauillac touch on the finish. A success in 2019. Fresh and juicy fruit, black berries and currants. An appealing and fragrant nose. 2024-2028

About the estate:

Built mainly in the 18th century by lawyer Arnaud Ducasse, the property took its current name in 1932. The château overlooking the Gironde dates back to 1820. Three large gravel plots make up this 40-hectare vineyard, owned by CA Grands Crus (Crédit Agricole group) since 2004.

About the estate:

Like Meyney, Grand-Puy Ducasse belongs to a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole (CA Grands Crus). Although we were somewhat disappointed by certain vintages from the early 2000s, which were clearly below the standard of a good cru classé, things are changing: the estate has set itself the ambitious goal of producing a wine worthy of its rank. Anne Le Naour, who manages the estate and supervises the winemaking, is gradually introducing the refinement that was often lacking in the wine. Since 2015, progress has been steady.

About wine:

This is the second wine of the Grand-Puy Ducasse Cru Classé. Composed of half Cabernet Sauvignon and half Merlot, it clearly contains a large proportion of the Merlot that was not selected for the first wine. This means that the wine is supple and accessible and will evolve relatively quickly. It is full-bodied and dense, with subtle smoky notes and prominent tannins. Drink from 2025 onwards. - Roger Voss

About wine:

This wine has a smoky character with notes of blackcurrant and plum, bark, toasted oak, and chocolate. There are also hints of mushroom. Medium-bodied, with polished tannins and a velvety texture. Earthy finish. An excellent second wine. Best enjoyed after 2025.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 90/100

About wine:

The second wine of this remarkable château, it boasts a deep purple/plum color and a lively bouquet of red and black fruits, wet river pebbles, smoked tobacco, and chocolate oak. This is a rich, medium- to full-bodied Pauillac wine with good density on the mid-palate, remarkable maturity, abundant tannins, and a magnificent finish. It lacks the elegance of the Grand Vin, but it is a satisfying Pauillac to drink over the next 15 years.
