Château Montrose
Château Montrose is a 68-hectare estate in the Saint-Estèphe appellation near Bordeaux. Château Montrose produces a magnificent Médoc wine ranked second grand cru in the 1855 classification.

Owned by Martin and Olivier Bouygues since 2006, a vast renovation program has been launched since the purchase, with rigorous environmental objectives. The two brothers are determined to make Château Montrose a model and showcase for new technologies in sustainable development. The AOC Saint-Estèphe produced by Château Montrose is a monumental, multi-faceted wine: highly complex, firm, with a long finish. A Saint-Estèphe of the highest class, one of the jewels in the crown of Bordeaux.

"A new legend for a vintage that brings out the full force of its terroir with exemplary precision!

"The intensity and clarity of the fruit are incredible. Blackberries, spices like cloves, blueberries, sandalwood and dried lavender. Full body and lovely, dense mid-palate with perfectly polished tannins. Extremely long and beautiful. One of the best young Montrose's in a long, long time." (James Suckling 2018) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)

"An unforgettable bottle rated 100/1000 "

"Surpassing the 2019 and rivaling the 2016 as this estate's best vintage in recent decades, the 2020 Château Montrose is a monument in the making. With aromas of violets, black fruits, licorice, loamy soil, black truffle and subtle spices, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with a seamless, elegantly muscular profile, terrific purity and energy, wonderfully powdered tannins and a long, resonant finish. It's 13.7% alcohol, like the superb 2009, but it's even deeper, more vibrant and more complex than the latter. It's well worth seeking out, and confirms Montrose's status as one of the Médoc's leading contemporary estates and as a premier cru" (Wine Advocate 2023) - Wooden case delivery available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

"Generous nose of blackcurrant. It's dense and punchy, chewy, with fine but grippy tannins that make an immediate statement. I love the texture, it envelops the palate in the best possible way - refined, with bright red fruit and hints of licorice, especially on the finish. It's all balanced with plenty to enjoy. Drink between 2023 and 2030. (Decanter 2022) - Delivered in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery).

Previously reserved for the estate's owners and staff, this is the third Montrose blend, made from batches of younger vines and lees wines. Produced on the exceptional terroir of Château Montrose and vinified by the estate's teams, Saint-Estèphe de Montrose reveals a discreet, floral nose accompanied by delicate notes of violet, raspberry, toasted and spicy aromas. Full-bodied and fleshy on the palate, it reveals fine tannic power, balanced by pleasant freshness.

"The 2011 also displays a high-flying, typically Saint-Estèphe wine, with a long, tight mouthfeel and plenty of class." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2014 - RVF). A complex Saint-Estèphe, evoking spicy, mocha and licorice aromas, with a beautiful, complex aromatic expression, and a clean, supple, coated tannic structure. - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine delivered in France (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

"Superbly fruity and remarkably fresh, the 2008 is a fine illustration of a great wine built on the finesse of its extraction and tannins". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011 - RVF)
