"This dense wine is full of generous fruit and has a fine structure. Already balanced, the blackberry notes explode, enhanced by hints of spice and dark chocolate. Made by the Lynch-Bages team, it is similarly elegant." Château Ormes de Pez
Saint-Estèphe
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Les Ormes has disappeared, but the hamlet of Pez is still home to this lovely property, acquired by Jean-Michel Cazes. Vinification is carried out under the watchful eye of the Château Lynch-Bages teams, adding a little extra soul and, above all, elegance to the wine. With more careful and precise vinification than in the past, they have gained in refinement.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2018 guide) 91/100 (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
Les Ormes de Pez 2016 is a deep garnet-purple color, with a nose of red and black berry fruit, earth, sage and charcoal. The medium-bodied palate is refreshingly chewy, with herbal scents.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2019 guide) 16.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Very well constituted, it offers all the charm of the vintage and a very seductive roundness.
About the domain :
This pretty estate owes its name to the beautiful elm trees that once adorned its garden. In the hands of the Cazes family (Lynch-Bages) since the 1930s, Ormes de Pez produces a wine that seduces wine-lovers with its full, rich and seductive bouquet. It's generally a fast-drinking wine, and has proved its consistency for over ten years, thanks to the work of a perfectly honed team. A bargain.

Tasted from barrel. This dense wine is full of generous fruit and fine structure. Already balanced, the blackberry notes explode, enhanced by hints of spice and dark chocolate. Made by the Lynch-Bages team, it is similarly elegant.
