Mâcon
The Mâcon appellation d'origine contrôlée is one of the jewels in the crown of Southern Burgundy, in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards in the Saône-et-Loire department. This appellation, which is distinct from Mâcon, produces wines from a group of 26 communes, covering an area of around 3,000 hectares. The communes of Azé, Bray, Burgy, Bussières, Chaintré, Chardonnay, Charnay-lès-Mâcon, Cruzille, Davayé, Fuissé, Igé, Loché, Lugny, Mancey, Milly Lamartine, Montbellet, Péronne, Pierreclos, Prissé, La Roche-Vineuse, Saint-Gengoux-le-National, Solutré-Pouilly, Uchizy, Vergisson, Verzé and Vinzelles can all lay claim to the Mâcon appellation.

The Mâconnais mountains shape the terroir, which is dominated by siliceous, clayey and sandy soils, particularly well-suited to the development of the local grape variety: Chardonnay.

Mâcon wines are exclusively white wines, renowned for the richness of their aromatic palette, inherited from the magnificent expression of Chardonnay. Mâcon wines are very easy to drink and can be enjoyed in all circumstances. They are nonetheless top-quality products, not to be outdone by the crus offered by houses such as Maison Verget, Domaine Louis Jadot or Domaine La Soufrandière-Bret Brothers.

"This cuvée is the flagship of the appellation. Deeply colored with hints of eggplant, it delivers intense aromas of strawberry and blackcurrant, mingled with sweet spices and vanilla aromas of wood. The palate is well-built, full-bodied and long, with good chewiness around a solid tannic structure, stimulated by a pleasant freshness with licorice tones. A wine built to keep". "A delicious, well-balanced white, with a harmonious finish...".

"50-year-old Chardonnays vinified and aged in vats on fine lees for 8 months have produced an expressive wine evocative of honey, lime blossom, lemon and mimosa. The palate, straight and firm on the attack, then softens around a smooth, fruity body, refreshed by a mineral finish. A fine terroir wine that needs time to assert itself and blossom". exceptional terroir

Abandoned after the Phylloxera crisis, the domaine decided to replant the Geniévrières parcel in 1983 to produce a long-keeping white wine. A great terroir of the Mâcon region, the bathonian clay-limestone soils give all the minerality to this deep, precise wine, combining freshness and roundness with expressive notes of brioche, pear, almond, chalk and citrus. Superb! - Limited quantities available.

long-keeping wine

The oldest vineyard on the estate, it was planted with an old chardonnay grape variety, known as "muscaté". These bring exotic exotic and spicy notes to the wine. The muscaté aspect of the wine disappears with age, giving way to terroir with saline and chalky notes. Laying down : Longer to express itself, this wine deserves a few years of laying down (10-15 years).
