"The 2008 edition of Pieza el Caldero is composed of 96% Aragon and 4% Grenache, over 70 years old. It was aged for 12 months in American oak barrels before bottling without filtration. Slightly less exuberant than the Pieza el Coll (but also a little more complex), it offers greater density and structure, with ripe, succulent fruit. It should evolve for 1-2 years, and give great pleasure through 2018" (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker).

A very pleasant surprise for this wine. It won't please everyone with its very woody, almost smoky notes. This wine goes perfectly with prime rib and strong cheeses, but in no way with sweet, refined cuisine.
