Campo de Borja
The grape varieties used for Campo de Borja wines are varied, but the appellation's king grape is unquestionably Grenache. This variety accounts for more than 60% of Campo de Borja D.O. vines. Single-varietal Grenache wines have made the appellation famous the world over. Red wines are also made from Tempranillo, Mazuela, Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah grapes. White wines are made from Macabeu, Chardonnay and Moscatel. The DO Campo de Borja appellation is authorized for all three wine colors, crianza, reserva and gran reserva, as well as for certain sweet wines. Production is not very high, but the wine is of high quality and highly appreciated for its aromatic complexity.

"Tres Picos 2013 is the estate's flagship cuvée, a 100% Grenache from the oldest vines planted on the Moncayo hillsides. This is the first time that Grenache has been aged partly in French oak barrels (10 months) and partly in vats. There are 6000 cases of this exceptional wine. Its ruby/purple color is followed by notes of kirsch liqueur, licorice, pepper and spice box, for a full-bodied, richly fruity, sensual, pure wine with fine finesse and complexity. Sometimes Grenache takes on complex accents similar to Pinot Noir, and that seems to be the case here. Consumers should take advantage of these beautiful wines offered at ridiculously low prices."
