90/100
Robert Parker
"Tres Picos 2013 is the estate's flagship cuvée, a 100% Grenache from the oldest vines planted on the Moncayo hillsides. This is the first time that Grenache has been aged partly in French oak barrels (10 months) and partly in vats. There are 6000 cases of this exceptional wine. Its ruby/purple color is followed by notes of kirsch liqueur, licorice, pepper and spice box, for a full-bodied, richly fruity, sensual, pure wine with fine finesse and complexity. Sometimes Grenache takes on complex accents similar to Pinot Noir, and that seems to be the case here. Consumers should take advantage of these beautiful wines offered at ridiculously low prices." On slightly jammy blackberry and vanilla. Lacks the pep of the 2012 vintage.
