"A succulent value for money produced by the renowned Jorge Navascues, a 91 for the Wine Advocate and a 92 for James Suckling!"

"It's legible and fruity, with a floral note and less ripeness than previous vintages despite the year's natural conditions (it feels like a fresh vintage!). Juicy, primary and fresh, with clarity and balance. A bargain." (Wine Advocate 2023)

Rated (guide 2023) 91/100 (Wonderful wine)

About the wine:

The Bodegas' youngest red is 2022 La Vadina, the result of a very hot, dry summer, during which they managed to keep the wine fresh - it has a pH of 3.3. The wine is moderately ripe and alcoholic (13.8%, almost 1% less than the previous year); the harvest was based on acidity rather than ripeness, and it was necessary to sort and select, as there were both green and overripe grapes in the same bunch. It was therefore a year that demanded precision and hard work. This pure, unoaked Garnacha is made from 100% purchased grapes from different soils, ages and altitudes, all located in the village of Almonacid de la Sierra; the grapes were harvested earlier and underwent stainless steel destemmed fermentation with indigenous yeasts, before being aged in concrete for five months. It's primary and fruity, with a floral note and less ripeness than previous vintages despite the year's natural conditions (it feels like a fresh vintage!). Juicy, primary and fresh, with clarity and balance. A bargain. 20,000 bottles produced. Bottled in March 2023. 2023-2027

About the wine:

A juicy Grenache, full of morello cherries, berries, tile and a touch of spice and hibiscus on the nose. Crisp and fruity on the palate, with pleasantly chewy tannins from the fruit and a succulent, fruity finish. Drink now.

Lovely nose of fresh red fruit with a nice freshness. The palate is simple and easy-drinking, but this is a good discovery of the Grenache grape variety with a very interesting q/p ratio.
