"Grandiose and impressive according to one of our customers 1jour1vin !"
"Amarone della Valpolicella 2017 blossoms in the glass with a blend of cherry compote and sweet herbs, complemented by cocoa and clove. It expands on the palate with velvety textures contrasted by zesty acidity and tart wild berries, revealing itself to be more savory than sweet and decidedly spicy. The 2017 remains incredibly long, blending bitter notes of dried orange peel with licorice and pretty inner flowers. Despite being the fruit of a warm vintage, this wine is beautifully harmonious from start to finish." (Vinous 2023)

About the wine:
A rich, elegant wine of impressive freshness. The grapes are toasted for four months. Botrytis is avoided like the plague. Each bunch is checked and suspect berries are removed by hand to avoid any malicious rot or oxidized fruit. This is a huge wine, but it doesn't have the herbaceous, minty or roasted notes I often associate with this style. Instead, it shows great vivacity on the palate, defined by heady aromas of kirsch, anise and mint. The tannins are precise and well-balanced. Impressive, powerful, yet paradoxically fresh and very contemporary. To be enjoyed now, but preferably from 2026 onwards.

About the wine:
Intense, brilliant ruby red. Inviting, powerful aroma of ripe plums, dark berries, rum-infused fruit and sweet tobacco. Powerful, gourmet palate, juicy with well-balanced tannins, lingering finish marked by ripe fruit.

Note and review by M. VINCENT L. Published on 08/09/2024
It left us speechless, impressed... Such aromatic power, it's superlative. You can scarcely feel its (necessarily high) alcohol content, so velvety and fruity is it... but beware, it still packs a punch. It's an amazing, unique winemaking method that really deserves to be tried at least once.
