About wine:
This is still one of my favorite Pieropan wines. The grapes come from an 8.5-hectare vineyard planted in 1971 on volcanic soils, and the wine is aged in cement tanks for an extended period of 15 months. The organic Soave Classico Calvarino 2023 (70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave) is a real marvel, with a dense texture and a particularly silky approach that gently envelops the palate. The bouquet is beautifully complex, with notes of honey, apricot, and poached apple. I love the intensity and consistent quality of this medium-bodied white. Salty mineral nuances fuel an elegant palate. Production is 60,000 bottles. 2025-2032
