"A blend of Syrah (60%) and Grenache. The deep color heralds a generous wine; wild, powerful scents, then a full-bodied, solid 'second string rugby'; muscle, then, with a hint of rusticity on the finish that will fade with age." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016). An elegant yet powerful wine, with a long, persistent finish, the flagship of the estate!

Wine rated (2016 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
A blend of Syrah (60%) and Grenache. The deep color heralds a generous wine, with wild, powerful aromas, followed by a full-bodied, rugby-like solidity. Muscle, then, with a hint of rusticity on the finish, which will fade with age.
About the domain :
Like many Corbières estates, Pech-Latt is of monastic origin: the estate depended on the nearby abbey of Lagrasse, whose vineyard is attested in 784. Located at the foot of the Alaric mountain, this vast unit (340 ha, including 160 ha of vines) has been farmed organically since 1991. Today, Lise Sadirac is the manager of the estate, which belongs to the Louis Max group from Burgundy.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Estate rated 5*Stars (Outstanding production)
About the domain :
At the foot of the Alaric mountains, Pech-Latt's certified organic vines are planted on limestone and red marl soils. Hard work, then, as the estate covers more than 90 hectares, with a variety of grape varieties that give pride of place to carignan and grenache noir, as well as marsanne in the white. After de-stemming - except for some of the carignan - the musts undergo long vatting, followed by ageing in vats or oak barrels for some of the older vines.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
About the wine:
The fuller-bodied Tamanova 2013 is also more vibrant, still with a fresh, dense, lively fruitiness that is precisely transcribed.
