Domaine de Ravanès - Petit Verdot 2015
Languedoc

Drink or Keep
This "curiosity" wine, made from the only Petit Verdot picked very ripe, was not aged in wood. Luscious and full-bodied, it reveals notes of very ripe red and black berries, mixed with subtle nuances of humus and hints of violet licorice (Zan bleu). It can be drunk now, of course, but will delight patient wine-lovers for many years to come.

Pure pt verdot, the first time I've had the chance to taste this stooge of many great Bordeaux wines on my own! Black color, beautiful brilliance. Nose of blueberry and a touch of aniline. Very fine, full-bodied blueberry on the palate, with good length and non-aggressive tannins. After the attack, there's a certain vegetal bitterness that doesn't get in the way. Conclusion: a fine southern wine, 14.5° alcohol, which remains fresh and asserts itself through its balance and a lovely form of fullness. An excellent wine with a wide range of uses. Drink at 16°.
