Slopes of Murviel
The Hérault region offers perhaps the greatest diversity of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) wines, covering almost two-thirds of the production area. Within the department, there are also more restricted areas to which a decree has granted specific PGIs. Such is the case of Coteaux de Murviel. TheCoteaux de Murviel PGI is therefore subject to the same specifications as the Hérault PGI, but covers a geographical area limited to the communes of Causses-et-Veyran, Saint-Nazaire-de-Ladarez, Pailhès, Murviel-lès-Béziers, Lignan-sur-Orb and Thézan-lès-Béziers.

The Hérault department forms a vast amphitheatre facing the Mediterranean Sea. Ideally situated on the banks of the Orb coastal river, the IGP Coteaux de Murviel enjoys a Mediterranean climate that is particularly conducive to vine-growing. It is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters, with two rainy periods in autumn and spring.

PGI Coteaux de Murviel wines are produced from traditional Mediterranean grape varieties such as Carignan, Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache for reds, but also from other varieties, notably Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The white wines of IGP Coteaux de Murviel include Grenache blanc, Maccabeu and Terret, as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Viognier. The IGP Coteaux de Murviel offers a wide range of red, white and rosé wines to discover. Their variety can be appreciated by tasting the vintages of Domaine de Ravanès or Domaine Borie La Vitarèle.

"A splendid vintage, far from being in decline, that will make more than one Bordeaux Grand Cru of the same age pale!

The 2006 magnum, 18 years old, has just emerged from adolescence. It has reached maturity, with all its complexity, but also softness, having now digested the tannic structure of the vintage, which was quite dense to begin with, and which has enabled the wine to "hold" up to the present day. But it can easily be kept until its 20th birthday, and probably beyond.

"Atypical!"

Produced without maceration and with low yields, this rare grape variety created in 1855 will intrigue fans of atypical wines! The palate is on the same register as the nose, exuberant with very ripe black berries (blackcurrant, blueberry), notes of resin and eucalyptus. A delicious, suave wine of restrained power, combining vinosity, liveliness and velvety tannins. A must-try!

"Unprecedented assembly!"

Old-vine Grenache Blanc is blended with young Colombard and Petit Manseng vines. Fresh in a Mediterranean style, aromas of white flowers, thiol notes, grapefruit and mirabelle plum explode in the glass. The palate is light, lively and salivating, with lemony notes. A fine way to start!

"An exceptional wine that stands out from the crowd!

Made from the single grape variety Petit Verdot and matured 40 months in oak barrels, this wine is produced in very limited quantities and only in the very best years to create an exceptional cuvée. Ultra-concentrated, powerful and with an intense tannic structure, it combines power, vinosity balanced by vivacity and fatness. A wine of great class!

This is a beautiful 100% Merlot red with a resolutely Mediterranean temperament. An intense, concentrated wine, with aromas of jammy red berries, strawberry and redcurrant, mixed with balsamic notes for depth. The palate is suave, round and pleasant. It's sure to delight wine-lovers!

Gem

Renard Blanc is a singularly expressive wine for ageing, where the power of Grenache Gris is tempered by the finesse of Maccabeu. Fresh, rich and complex, dominated by peach and apricot, with hints of pineapple and citrus, it is round on the palate, revealing exceptional fatness, balanced by remarkable minerality and a generous, long-lasting finish. A great Languedoc white!

A beautiful, modern rosé. Its characteristics: lightness, tonicity and fruitiness. In a word, freshness, freshness and more freshness! Not devoid of a certain complexity and elegance, this wine is ideal with seafood, salads and exotic spicy dishes. Remarkably intense of remarkable intensity, elegance, finesse and complexity, making it closer to a Provence than a Languedoc...

"An atypical Syrah

An atypical cuvée composed of Syrah, Aramon and Cinsault. Designed for moments of conviviality, this cuvée expresses pure fruit, like a basket of red and black fruits tinged with a hint of spice. On the palate, it's light and sapid, with soft tannins and a salivating finish. What more could you ask for? Friends and fine charcuterie for a festive aperitif!

"Last bottles!"

From a precise plot selection, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, aged 48 months in barrels. A great wine, racy, powerful and complex, offering tons of spice and candied fruit, with a full-bodied, deep mouthfeel. This is the cuvée not to be missed, whose 1999 vintage beat the great Petrus in a famous blind tasting!

Oméga is the estate's rare cuvée. It was born with the ambition of creating a great southern white wine made from 100% of a micro-parcel of very old Grenache Gris vines. A racy wine of character, combining aromatic richness and minerality to guarantee intense pleasure... An enchanting wine!

This "curiosity" wine, made from the only Petit Verdot picked very ripe, was not aged in wood. Luscious and full-bodied, it reveals notes of very ripe red and black berries, mixed with subtle nuances of humus and hints of violet licorice (Zan bleu). It can be drunk now, of course, but will delight patient wine-lovers for many years to come.

Domaine de Ravanès - Merlot Cabernet-Sauvignon 2014

A balanced blend of the two king grape varieties of the Médoc, acclimatized at Domaine de Ravanès for over 35 years, where they express themselves with nobility and a resolutely Mediterranean temperament. Sunshine and ripe fruit fill the glass, thanks to the complementary alliance of Merlot, which gives the wine all its charm and warmth, and Cabernet Sauvignon, at perfect maturity, which gives it beautiful structure and deep fruitiness without any hint of greenness!

On the nose, Cuvée Diogène exhales intense aromas of blackcurrant and crème brûlée, followed by spicy and vanilla nuances that add complexity. The palate is hushed and greedy, enveloped in a great suavity dominated by ripe fruit and licorice, backed by a racy structure and polished tannins. A great success!
