"Direct-pressed and barrel-aged, Yannick Amirault's 2022 Rosé d'Equinoxe (all Cabernet Franc) exudes a fresh, lively bouquet of flowers, peach, citrus, star anise, red fruits and spices, followed by a taut, energetic palate that's juicy and fresh, and a delicate, long, penetrating finish. The acidity, which underpins it all, is vibrant and racy." (Wine Advocate 2023)

Wine rated 90/ 100
Domaine rated (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the domain :
Benoît joined the family domaine in Bourgueil in 2003 to continue the family adventure initiated by his father Yannick in 1997. The vineyards are divided between Bourgueil (two-thirds) and the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to restore the expression of terroirs through very silky, civilized Cabernet Francs that still retain their bright fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and each year the wines gain in purity thanks to increasingly accurate vinification (truncated wooden vats, stoneware barrels and jars). The 2022 and 2023 delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.

A surprising discovery, this rosé goes against the current of rosés. While retaining plenty of freshness, the palate remains well-balanced, with a slightly vinous density and seductive roundness. The touch is satiny, slightly buttery, with aromas of tart English candy, enveloped by delicate floral notes. The finish is elegant, with a mineral intensity. This gastronomic rosé par excellence is racy and hedonistic. Best served with refined dishes, such as roasted scallops with fresh green asparagus cream. Score = 4.1.
