"Fruit in its purest expression

This cuvée, made from the estate's youngest vines, once again highlights the fine work of its creator, Yannick Amirault. The fruit is there, accompanied by superb substance and pleasant roundness. The ripeness of the grapes has a lot to do with it, as does the care taken in vinification. Delicious and supple!

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

Benoît joined the Bourgueil family domaine in 2003 to continue the family adventure initiated by his father Yannick in 1997. The vineyards are divided between Bourgueil (two-thirds) and the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to restore the expression of terroirs through very silky, civilized Cabernet Francs that still retain their bright fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and each year the wines gain in purity thanks to increasingly accurate vinification (truncated wooden vats, stoneware barrels and jars). The 2022 and 2023 delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.

Pleasant Cabernet-Franc, light, fruity (cherry in particular, cinnamon incidentally), with good substance. Still marked by ageing and tight tannins, it is a little austere on the palate. Slightly acidic and peppery finish. At comparable prices, I prefer the Côte 50. Score = 3. Pair with braised Vendée ham mogettes.
