"The finesse of Pinot Noir, the fruitiness of Gamay and the aromatic touch of Côt all come together in this beautiful bottle.

"Good concentration but subtle, finely spiced, buoyed by silky tannins and partial barrel ageing that doesn't mask the fruit, this ambitious red is sure to please. It's a worthy representative of the appellation, destined for short cellaring and a fine piece of beef".(Le Guide Hachette 2023)

About the wine:

Concentrated yet subtle, finely spiced, with silky tannins and partial barrel ageing that doesn't mask the fruit, this ambitious red is sure to please. It's a worthy representative of the appellation, destined for short cellaring and a fine piece of beef.

About the domain :

Vincent Hayer, the estate's operations manager for almost 20 years, became the manager of the property in 2020, a former clos du Château de Troussay, converted to organic since 2012 and biodynamic since 2015. Owned by the highly committed Chevrier family, the estate comprises 30 ha divided between Cour-Cheverny and Cheverny, with very old Sauvignon vines in particular.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

With the departure of Italian Laura Semeria, a new page is turned at Domaine de Montcy. [...] a family of investors from Orléans to lead the future of this biodynamic Cheverny estate. The wines presented here preserve the sincerity of their substance and aromas, without showing off, respecting the breeding and identity of Sauvignon and Chardonnay for the whites, and Pinot Noir and Gamay for the reds. Let's watch the transition...

Rated wine (guide 2023 ) 17/20

About the wine:

A very unusual combination! But it really works. It's full of juicy, fresh fruit, but also slightly sweet. The soft, supple tannins are sustained and balanced. The wine's herbaceous frame carries it through to a longer finish, giving it more depth than the fruit would suggest. This is a trendy bar wine. I love this wine. Pair with small plates.

Rated wine (guide 2024 ) 91/100

About the wine:

Strawberries, currants, plums, peppercorns and a little damp earth. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins. Supple, juicy and elegant, with a savory finish. Made from Demeter-certified biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now.
